Wedding Secrets from a Venue Owner

Hi friends, welcome back to the blog!

If you want to know some great secrets about selecting the perfect wedding venue for your BIG day, then you need to find someone who has all that knowledge and helps share it.

Fortunately, I was able to sit down with our very own Bob Johnston, an award-winning wedding venue owner near Roanoke, VA. He gave me such great information on video that I broke it up into 8 segments that I will share with you over the next several weeks.

3 Basic Questions to Ask When Selecting a Wedding Venue

The first of the two is called 3 basic questions to ask when selecting a wedding venue and that includes choosing the ‘big box’ venue vs. a wedding campus.

Basically, Bob explains that a ‘big box’ is sort of like a mill, the venue operates the exact same way from wedding to wedding as a campus has multiple options for the ceremony location, reception, and everything in between.

He also explains that some venues are not really venues, they are imposters. What Bob means by that is that some venues offer weddings on the side, but they are really other things, like hotels, wineries, museums, and the like.

Finally, in this 1st video series, he talks about some guidelines and restrictions at venues, saying for example only one location to get married or preventing you from doing something fun, like having lawn games for example.
