Why NOVA couples marry at our wedding venue?

If you live in Northern Virginia, chances are you suddenly realize that getting married is expensive! One thing that engaged couples to realize, however, is that having a great wedding outside the region can save you a ton of money.

Today, I want to explore some common wedding costs in NOVA and compare them to SWVA as many couples in the Northern part of Virginia choose to come here instead.

Why NOVA Couples Choose Silver Hearth Lodge

In Part, It’s the Costs

If you do some real research online, you’ll stumble across The Wedding Report. According to them, the average cost of a wedding in and around the DC metro area is just above $40,900 for 2021!

When you compare that to the same costs in our region just a few hours away, that same wedding with a similar level of experienced professionals will cost you just $24,200, that’s a HUGE difference.

NOVA compared to Roanoke Valley

So why is that?

Well, it’s mostly because of the cost of living.

Take wedding photographers in both regions for example. Someone of equal caliber, the same number of years of experience under their belts, and the same equipment couple easily be a difference of 25% or more.

It’s not uncommon for couples to spend upwards of $7,800 for wedding photography up there, compared to just $3,000 here.

Thinking logically, couples can save a lot by moving their wedding down here to the Roanoke Valley and in turn take the remaining money and use it towards a great honeymoon or simply pocket the money and save it.

But, there is another reason why couples tend to flock to our region.

But it’s also the Views

Believe it or not, couples come for the views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Silver Hearth Lodge is the only private mountain-top wedding venue in the region, and since there are no mountain-top wedding venues in Leesburg or Arlington, they book with us here instead.

Being able to have a ‘heavenly’ wedding atop the Blue Ridge Mountains in a luxury-rustic wedding venue appeals to a lot of younger professionals in the nation’s capital, and many choose just that.

One thing I can also tell you is that couples want feature-rich amenities too, far beyond a building and a bathroom.

And the great amenities

There is country rustic, then there is luxury rustic, Silver Hearth Lodge is one of the few luxury rustic wedding venues in Virginia.

What is a luxury rustic wedding venue?

In a nutshell, it’s an elevated venue with amenities that far surpass a normal venue.

At SHL, there is an endless list of things that make the venue different.

From flaming pianos, a view that guests love, a large outdoor firepit with a smores bar, to the Ralph Lauren leather couches, crystal chandeliers, our coffee bar, cantina bar, lux bridal suite, then of course the grooms cabin, children’s playground, lawn games court, sitting porch with rocking chairs, the Loveworks Lounge, Treetops terrace, Overlook Pavilion, the Sacred Heart Chapel, Native American Fire Circle, like I said, the list just keeps going and going.

Perhaps one of the most interesting things you will find when you visit the property here is all thought that has been put into the wedding venue.

Couples are truly amazed at everything they get with the venue.
